Shorty September Tag!
I know I haven't been posting much recently (thanks, work), and I have really wanted to post about the Republic of Consciousness Prize (both North America's and the UK's). However, with Shorty September being my favourite read-a-thon of the year and happening very soon, I knew that I'd want to do the Shorty September tag that the 2025 hosts have made!
Question #1: What is the book on your TBR you're most excited about? Mine is Caesaria by Hanna Nordenhök and translated by Saskia Vogel. The English translation was published in 2024 by Book*hug Press.
Question #2a: What is your favourite prompt? My favourite prompt is either Ripped Shorts (read a mystery/thriller/horror) or Runway Fashion Shorts (read a translation).
Question #2b: What is an idea for a new shorty prompt? I would love to have a prompt for a SKORT! Maybe something like, read a shorty that has a cover you love or that you picked up simply because of the cover (like a cover buy).
Question #3: What is your favourite shorty book of all time or a favourite shorty you read for Shorty September? The best shorty book I've read recently is Clear by Carys Davies. But last year, I read a great shorty for Shorty September: People Like Them by Samir Sedira (translated by Lara Vergnaud).
Question #4: What is a book that maybe should have been a shorty? I think that could have been Oromay by Baalu Girma (translated by David Degusta).
Question #5: The image of Bert's socks and shoes inspires me to recommend the manga, Azumanga Daioh! written by Kiyohiko Azuma. It's one of my favourite manga series of all time!
I hope everyone is getting pumped for SHORTY SEPTEMBER!

Happy reading!
Yes yes yes I love this! This is such a good way to get into Shorty September! (I also loved Clear but feel like not many people really talk about it!)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Heather! I agree! I don't blog often enough, but it's such a great way to give Shorty September more exposure :)
DeleteI also don't feel that many people talk about "Clear". That being said, I have a few friends who read and loved "West," so I think that will be tne next book of hers that I read.
